Meet Ms. Where is your flag pin

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 10:18:26 PM PDT

Update:  Humble apology...this story was just posted.

I picked this up on TPM.   It appears that our lady of the flag pin was mentioned in a NY Times.com article on April 4th quoting her reason for not wanting to vote for Obama.  Yup, you guessed it.  It's all about the pin, not race.

In Ex-Steel City, Voters Deny Race Plays a Role
By PAUL VITELLO

LATROBE, Pa. — Ask whom she might vote for in the coming presidential primary election and Nash McCabe, 52, seems almost relieved to be able to unpack the dossier she has been collecting in her head.

It is not about whom she likes, but more a bill of particulars about why she cannot vote for Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.

"How can I vote for a president who won’t wear a flag pin?" Mrs. McCabe, a recently unemployed clerk typist, said in a booth at the Valley Dairy luncheonette in this quiet, small city in western Pennsylvania.

Mr. Obama has said patriotism is about ideas, not flag pins.

"I watch him on TV," Mrs. McCabe said. "I keep looking for that lapel pin."

Ya think George was a little too embarrassed to ask this question himself, so they found the only person they could who uttered this tripe to make them the only non-moderator asked question of the evening????

Not only was the whole debacle a setup, but Georgie so didn't have the guts to do it himself, he had to find someone to deal the dirt for him.

How special.

Ya, it's all about who's electable, right George?

I got news for you...we don't have stupid written on our foreheads and when we have a President who's not beholden to corporate megalomaniacs, we'll (maybe) accept your apology.

In the meantime, get bent.
