"He's as dumb as a stump."

Well I have to say I agree with this statement.  That's because I know who the 'he' is that's being referred to.  And I know who the quote is attributed to as well.

Al Meyerhoff over at HuffPo accompanied his wife to the McCain abode in 1999 when she was there to interview them for Home & Garden TV.  Al is a bit miffed that McLiar is calling Ariana's honesty into question over the 'who did you vote for in 2000' flap that has recently come to light and has decided to add his two cents.

During this day with the McRiches on the Fourth of July, Al asked McFlipFlop about his opinion of GWB.  McCrookedTalk said that GWB was "as dumb as a stump", so by Al's metric, if he voted for GWB in 2000, as he is now trying to say, then he voted for a stump.

Always the goods hosts, the McCains also invited us to spend the day with them, including for barbeque, a favorite of John's. And as McCain flipped burgers, I could not help but ask his views about then candidate George W. Bush.

"He's as dumb as a stump," McCain offered. We then went on to discuss other matters (including Vietnam) but that quote remains seared in my memory.

I have to say for the first time then that I agree with McFlipFlop and I'm wondering how the media-appointed most patriotic, straight-talking, honest & forthright McCranky did such a disservice to his country by voting for dumb & dumber.

Now I know McLiar will call Al a liar too, but I'm not dumb enough to believe him.  Are you?
